When I first heard of the second version, I was confused. You had to buy the new version to get yet another RTA on top what we already have in our mixers. And a correlation meter ? (Already on a TC Electronic ‘Clarity M’, should you have that LUFS meter hooked up to eg the AES out of your mixer.)
But playing around with it, both extra’s made a lot of sense very quickly. LiveTrax was already a very nice way to multitrack your session. Even the track names , and changing of scenes are recorded.
This new RTA gives you the ability to of viewing the RTA’s of multiple channels in one view , beautifully color coded. Handy for checking out ‘masking’ problems of different channels , or spotting differences between a ‘DI signal’ and a ‘mic signal’ , etc
You can also select two channels, and watch the correlation meter. Very handy , to immediately see how well (or not !) both signals are correlated. Very useful to spot ‘phase problems’ that need your attention.
